?This course explores how art and cultural expression reflect human ideas, values, and experiences across historical and global contexts. Students examine key artistic periods and traditions from antiquity to the contemporary era (c. 3000 BCE-present), interpreting visual, performing, and literary works within their cultural, historical, and social settings. Students engage with scholarly perspectives and historical context to develop thoughtful, evidence-based interpretations. Students demonstrate learning through producing a thematic collection of artworks from the time periods studied, accompanied by interpretive commentary and reflective synthesis on the role of the arts in shaping human experience.??
