Engineering Mechanics - Dynamics

This course introduces the principles of dynamics, focusing on the motion of particles and rigid bodies. Topics include kinematics of particles in rectilinear and curvilinear motion, and kinetics using Newton's second law, work-energy, and impulse-momentum methods. Students will explore systems of particles and planar motion of rigid bodies, including forces, accelerations, and energy principles. The course also covers three-dimensional motion of rigid bodies and introduces the fundamentals of mechanical vibrations, with applications to mechatronic systems, robotic linkages, and dynamic mechanical components. Emphasis is placed on problem-solving, system modeling, and analysis using engineering tools. Prerequisites: MEC-210 and MA-262. (3-0-3)
