This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the domain of uncrewed and autonomous systems. Topics explored include historical perspective, vehicle applications, vehicle design and engineering, UAV CONOPS, Part 107 regulations and RPA pilot certification, technologies underpinning ground, maritime and space unmanned vehicles; and research on autonomous systems like cars, urban air mobility technologies, and robotic vehicles. The course provides insight into modeling and control fundamentals, visual and electro-optical navigation, obstacle and terrain avoidance systems, and modular on-board processing systems.
