This course will provide an overview of Operational Technology (OT) and typical system topologies, identify common threats and vulnerabilities to these systems, and provide recommended security countermeasures to mitigate the associated risks. OT systems and devices detect or cause a direct change through the monitoring and/or control of devices, processes, and events. Examples include industrial control systems, building automation systems, transportation systems, physical access control systems, physical environment monitoring systems, and physical environment measurement systems. Students will be given guidance on securing OT while addressing the unique performance, reliability, and safety requirements of OT systems. Prerequisite: IAE 685 (3) NOTE: Students enrolled in this course may incur an additional lab fee of $100.
