This course provides an overview of malicious software and the cyber threat actors that deploy them. Malware, such as viruses, worms, Trojan horses, logic bombs, and malicious scripts, will be discussed. Students will review the anatomy of well-known viruses and worms to understand how they work. Malicious threats as they apply to applications, networks, cloud services, and Operational Technology will be discussed. Students will review the underlying methodologies used by Computer Network Defense Teams to protect assets from harm or other compromise. NOTE: Students enrolled in this course incur an additional lab fee of $100. Prerequisite(s): CS 620 or waiver.
