Capitol Technology University is the only independent university in Maryland dedicated to engineering, computer science, information technology, and technology management. Founded in 1927, the university is a regionally accredited institution offering associate, bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees, as well as professional development training and certificates.

The university's 52-acre campus is located in Laurel, Maryland, midway between Washington, DC, and Baltimore. Full-time undergraduate students living on campus are eligible for a tuition guarantee (tuition increases no more than 1% per year) and a job guarantee.
