The Edible Book Contest is an international library contest where participants create edible art related to books. The Edible Book Contest is usually held on or around April 1st to celebrate the birthday of French gastronome Jean-Anthelme Brillat-Savarin (1755-1826), famous for his book Physiologie du goût, a meditation on food; however, Capitol College has the event in October to celebrate Halloween. Capitol College's was held in October 2013 and was a great success because of the wonderful participation of students, staff and faculty. In total, the contest had 26 edible book entries and 55+ eaters.
