Welcome to the John G. and Beverly A. Puente Library at Capitol Technology University. The library is here to serve your academic and scholastic needs. We hope this guide answers your questions and provides you with helpful information.

Currently, our stacks are closed to the public. If you are looking for a book from the stacks, search for it online in OPAC, email the Call Number or the Item number (with your name and email address) to library@captechu.edu and the librarian will make arrangements with you for you to pick up the book from the circulation desk.

About the John G. & Beverly A. Puente Library

 The John G. and Beverly A. Puente Library has a collection of more than 10,000 books, audio/video selections and periodicals that support the curriculum as well as reading for enjoyment.
 
The WiFi coverage in the library connects users to the same wireless network available for the rest of the campus. The library provides 14 networked desktop PCs and 5 Macs in individual study carrels.  Each workstation has software that supports classes and provides access to the internet including: the Library's Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC), printers, a scanner, and our new Virtual Library. We provide 24 hour access to many full-text articles from leading, e-journals and ebooks through ACM DL;  Proquest Central; EBSCOhost (Academic Search Premier and many others); Homeland Security Digital Library; Nexis Uni; and our newly expanded IEEE Xplore library that includes all conference proceedings and published IEEE standards.
 
Connect to the new Virtual Library menu for access to all of the online databases available. Use your Capitol Webmail address and Capitol Webmail password to authenticate your access to all of our e-resources.
 
The library is also home to the William G. McGowan Center for Innovative Teaching (L102) classroom, and  conference rooms for small group meetings or study. The lower level of the library is accessible by elevator and a circular staircase. This area contains the stacks that houses the majority of our book collection. This area features a large open space with a panoramic view of a wooded are behind the campus. There are also more study carrels at the north end of the stacks for a quiet place to focus.

Virtual Library Address

We are very pleased to announce the roll out of the new Capitol Virtual Library. Please use this link to access the new menu. Log on to any of the menu items with the same credentials that you use to access your Capitol Webmail account. If your Capitol Webmail address is: jlsmith@captechu.edu, then use that address to access the new virtual library. Use your Capitol Webmail password to gain access. If you can reach your Capitol webmail, you have access to the virtual library.

Please note that any alternative passwords or guest accounts will no longer work with this new link. You must use your Capitol Webmail account credentials to access the virtual library. The new address in case you would like to bookmark it is: https://login.captechu.idm.oclc.org/menu. For a few weeks we will leave the old virtual library site active until everyone has had an opportunity to make sure that their webmail credentials are working properly.
