Current and prospective students who wish to file a complaint are encouraged to follow the procedures outlined in the Student Handbook (PDF) and attempt to resolve the issue directly with the university.
If a student has exhausted Capitol’s grievance procedures and the issue has not been resolved, the student may file a complaint with the Maryland Higher Education Commission , the state portal agency for NC-SARA. This agency is responsible for investigating and resolving student complaints.
Complaints concerning compliance with accreditation standards should be submitted to the university’s accrediting body, the Middle States Commission on Higher Education .
California Residents: Online students residing in California may file complaints through the California Department of Consumer Affairs or call 833-942-1120.
